Slashies are generally members of the millennial demographic, who choose to include various ‘side hustles’ in their professional titles to which they devote their time—in addition to their nine-to-five. We celebrate "non-traditional" career paths and seek to redefine professional success. Our goal is to create a diverse, collaborative space amongst creatives and enthusiasts who want to be a part of the South-Asian Slashie movement.
Founded in 2018, the Slashie Connects team hosts collaborative events year-round and we recently wrapped up our 2023 SXSW debut in Austin. Our marquee summit in New York City cultivates a community of 300+ South Asian creatives features robust panels, workshops, fireside chats, keynotes, pitch-offs, an indie-biz marketplace, networking mixers and other activations & experiences. We collaborated with more than 30 brands across verticals including Meta, Instagram, Disney+, Nielsen, and JetBlue to name a few.
Our 2023 Slashie Summit is taking place on May 13th 2023 in Hudson Yards, NYC.
