The company was started with the passion of Bart and Jan Coninx, enthusiastic entrepreneurs with plenty of catering experience as chefs in various restaurants and later in their own business with restaurant and catering services.
The brothers soon discovered the convenience of fresh frozen pasta. This fresh pasta is after cooking immediately frozen ‘al dente’. Immerse the pasta in boiling water for only 30 seconds and you get perfectly cooked fresh pasta, ready to be processed in all kinds of dishes. Without any loss of quality.
The Smiling Cook was founded in 2003 and quickly expanded the range to include all kinds of high-quality solutions for the catering industry, such as ready-made sauces, ready-to-eat meals and solutions for take-away. Always easy to prepare and tailored to every kitchen.
A sustainable family story
The company has since evolved into a European brand name in full expansion. Jan and Bart's passion is continued by the next generation. Brothers Bob and Jan Jr. Coninx keep the experience within the family business and ensure the necessary innovation so The Smiling Cook can continue to develop the most delicious dishes.
