He goes on to say that people start learning jiu jitsu for a variety of reasons - from watching UFC, to health, fitness, joining their friends - and even setting out to get their black belt. But many get taken out by challenges along the way such as their own unrealistic expectations, poor culture in their jiu jitsu gyms, injuries, money issues, career or family responsibilities - the list goes on. He knows this first hand.
