SWEDA is a regional charity supporting people affected by eating disorders. Set up in 1992 by a parents, SWEDA has provided a range of services since then for people struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating & compulsive overeating. Our services also provide support to family members and friends engaged in the difficult task of supporting someone close to them.
SWEDA has recently been awarded a substantial 5-year Reaching Communities Big Lottery Grant, from which we are looking to project fund a comprehensive Eating Disorders service across Somerset. The provision of high quality, professional Support Services is at the centre of this plan. These will include a Support & Guidance sessions, College-based Community Support, Support Groups and Counselling Service. In addition we do Training sessions and workshops across the county.
