Swig Coach offers an entirely unique approach to the evaluation of golf club wine programs, based on the perspective of a knowledgeable member versus that of a wine professional. While we have nothing but the utmost respect for sommeliers and others trained and skilled in wine and beverage service, we believe we bring something extra to the table: what it feels like to be on the receiving end.
Our experience gives us the confidence to back up this assertion. Tom Feitel, aka the Swig Coach, was trained as a somm in the 1970’s, was the winner of the French Open Blind Wine Tasting competition in New York in 1982 and sold a compelling portfolio of Italian wines to retail wine stores and restaurants. More importantly, he has been a student of wine, collector and taster for the better part of 40 years, a golfer since he started caddying at age 14 and a private golf club member for 15 years. Few people have the same credentials.
The Swig Coach evaluation process includes both B2B and B2C components, with the dual goals of (1) helping the club confirm and potentially improve the quality of its offer and (2) promoting the club’s program to the golfing/wine drinking public. We work very closely with clients to ensure their satisfaction with the final output.
