To those accustomed to having “boots on the ground” at their shows, the idea of separating a tour manager from the tour is a bit harder to grasp at first. This is understandable, since TMs many times symbolize a tangible level of security and organization. That said, remote TMs aren’t necessarily meant to be a replacement, but rather are a less-expensive option that has bubbled up to accommodate and augment the needs of a growing population of artists, managers, agents, and even TMs who are navigating the constantly shifting music industry landscape.
