TransBIB vernetzt die Akteure der industriellen Bioökonomie bundesweit. Es führt die vielfältigen Beispielregionen der industriellen Bioökonomie zusammen und bündelt die über Deutschland verteilt vorhandene Expertise. TransBIB entwickelt in den kommenden 3 Jahren diesen „One-Stop-Shop“ für die industrielle Bioökonomie.
Ziel ist die Beschleunigung des Transfers und der Skalierung bioökonomischer Innovationen in die industrielle Anwendung. TransBIB unterstützt den Transformationsprozess zu kreislaufgeführten Wirtschaftsprozessen auf Basis regenerativer, nachwachsender Kohlenstoffe.
Gefördert wird TransBIB vom Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK) im Programm „Industrielle Bioökonomie“ mit insgesamt über 5.5 Mio Euro.
