The Turkish Student Association (TSA) is a student organization at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It has been founded primarily for the purposes of intercultural education and exchange. Via the organization of on-campus activities, we aim to: 1) Provide a platform that promotes informal discussion and learning of Turkish culture, language, history, and current events. 2) Support Turkish students, community members, and other cultures on campus through collaborative activities and gatherings. 3) Serve as a resource for non-Turkish students and community members who express an interest in learning about Turkey. If you're curious about what we do, past events have included cultural trips to Turkish markets and restaurants in the Triangle area, pre-departure orientations for students planning to study abroad in Turkey, the organization of academic seminars and lectures, the showing of award-winning Turkish movies, and the celebration of Turkish holidays. Membership is open to anyone who expresses an interest in Turkish culture (Turkish and non-Turkish alike!).
