Introducing Vegilicious, UCT's very own Plant-based Society :)
The purpose of Vegilicious is to promote plant-based living in the interest of global health, sustainability, conservation, and peaceful cohabitation.
Our vision is to strive towards transformation by achieving all-inclusiveness through being committed to providing various ways to make a plant-based lifestyle attainable and low-impacted, not only within the UCT community, but also within the broader society of Cape Town.
Our mission is to integrate a holistic approach, on how to follow a plant-based lifestyle based on the idea that it should be sustainable, accessible, and delicious!
While we recognise and endorse the motivations behind the choice to follow a plant-based diet, our emphasis as a society is on enabling this diet for those who choose to follow it. Our plant-based diet is a manifestation of our advocacy and any further advocacy we undertake, for instance on issues of animal welfare or sustainability, is a related but auxiliary activity.
