The National Strategic Plan on Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, through Pillar 5, seeks to utilise public and private sector procurement as a tool and a springboard to facilitate the participation of women in the economy; promote their independence, and minimise their vulnerability to abuse.
Pillar 5 also seeks to mobilise the private sector to partner with government in enabling Women-Owned Enterprises (WOEs) to participate in procurement opportunities within industry supply chains.
The Women's Economic Assembly for women is a national initiative that draws companies, departments, organisations and individuals to connect and inspire innovation, thought leadership and actions to transform value chain eco-systems and create clear pathways for women-owned businesses to participate.
This initiative aims to build a long term framework where economic opportunities for women, nationally and across the continent are expanded and leveraged, and practical actions take to fast-track womens' participation in supply chain eco-systems within specific industries.
