In het project Wijk vol waarde gaan mensen die langdurig in de bijstand zitten aan de slag met werk van waarde in hun eigen wijk, Bouwlust Vrederust in Den Haag. Ze gaan bijvoorbeeld aan de slag als conciërge of receptionist(e) in het wijkcentrum, ze houden de wijk schoon en veilig, werken aan de moestuin, koken maaltijden of delen soep uit aan ouderen in de buurt. Deelname is onder begeleiding van een jobcoach, zodat deelnemers een versterkte eigenwaarde krijgen, hun vaardigheden en kennis verbeteren en een verbeterde mentale en fysieke gezondheid krijgen. Tegelijkertijd verbetert de leefbaarheid in de wijk merkbaar en zichtbaar. Dat geeft zin en betekenis aan de inspanningen van de wijkbewoners. Wijk vol waarde draagt ook bij aan een stabielere financiële situatie van de deelnemers, doordat zij voor hun inzet een vrijwilligersvergoeding krijgen.
Project Wijk vol waarde wordt uitgevoerd in het wijkcentrum van Stichting Alle Kanten.
