XOOMlab is een coöperatie van ontwerpers, ontwikkelaars en ondernemers. We delen kennis en maatschappelijke betrokkenheid op het Cruquiuseiland in Amsterdam.
Alle deelnemers hebben een relatie met de bouw. Als architect, interieurontwerper, stedenbouwkundige, bouwkundige, ontwikkelaar of als specialist in vastgoedcommunicatie. Afhankelijk van de aard en de schaal van de opgave werken we in verschillende vormen samen.
We hebben de krachten gebundeld om tot vernieuwende projecten te komen. Door processen anders te organiseren komen we tot verrassende resultaten. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn de World of Food in de Bijlmer. De door XOOMlab zelf ontwikkelde middeldure huurappartementen in de voormalige Jan Ligthartschool in Amsterdam Oost en het door co-creatie tot stand gekomen CPO-project Black Jack Buiksloterham.
Ook het kantoorgebouw de XX-en op IJburg is voortgekomen uit een initiatief van XOOMlab-collega’s. Acht bedrijven werkten samen aan dit eerste voorbeeld van Collectief Zakelijk Opdrachtgeverschap in Nederland.
Naast gerealiseerde projecten is XOOMlab bekend van baanbrekende ontwerpen voor onder andere de Nieuwe Magere Brug over het IJ, een ontwerp voor de transformatie van een watertoren in Utrecht tot een duurzame accu en het voorstel Centrumeiland IJburg collectief te ontwikkelen (CPEI).
