حتى صدر الأمر السامي في التاسع من رجب عام ١٤٠١هـ بمسمى المركز الخيري لتعليم القرآن الكريم والعلوم الشرعية.
وترأس معالي الدكتور عبدالله التركي أول مجلس إدارة.
ومنذ ذلك الحين والجمعية تخطو خطواتها الثابتة في تحقيق أهدافها الاستراتيجية.
