Abid's engineering background allows him to 'drill down' when needed and his MBA enables him to see the big picture. He is dedicated to finding the best energy systems solutions in an ever-changing technical, political, financial and social landscape.Abid is the Founder/CEO of Sustainable Energy Strategies. He is a Professional Engineer (B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering) and worked for 10 years in progressive positions in engineering, operations and management in the petroleum industry. After earning an MBA in Global Energy Management and Sustainable Development from the Haskayne School of Business, he worked with Sr. Management on the north slope of Alaska as a leadership coach and with Indigenous Peoples of Alberta and Equador. For almost 15 years, Abid has been focused on sustainable energy and ESG and has over 10 years experience developing and delivering corporate training solutions in the energy space. He has worked on energy projects in Asia, Australia, and North Africa as well as North and South America. Abid was born and raised in Calgary and sees the Canadian energy industry playing a crucial role on the world stage for years to come. Abid is dedicated to helping others, both individually and collectively, in both the developing and developed world. He enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, and learning about new technologies, cultures and ecosystems.
