Throughout this prestigious programme, I will be involved in the following:Key ResponsibilitiesRacecourse Operations:Supporting the planning and execution of major racing and non-racing events, ensuring smooth event delivery from start to finish.Gaining hands-on experience in logistics, coordination, and operational management of racecourse events at venues like Fairyhouse, Navan, Leopardstown, and Tipperary.Commercial Department:Working on sponsorships, partnerships, and other revenue-generating activities to contribute to the commercial success of the racecourses.Engaging in strategic planning to enhance the business operations of the horse racing industry.Racing Department:Assisting in the day-to-day management of race events, ensuring compliance with regulations and seamless coordination among industry stakeholders.Gaining valuable insights into the governance and operational framework of horse racing.Industry Exposure & LearningAttending major horse sales and participating in Racehorse Ownership open days, gaining a well-rounded understanding of the sport’s ecosystem.Building relationships with professionals across various departments while expanding my knowledge of event management, commercial operations, and the broader horse racing industry.

My responsibilities include:Promotional Strategy and Management:Collaborating with suppliers to collect data and proposals for promotions.Ensuring accurate and timely input of promotional details into our systems.Coordinating the approval of promotional cycles with Buyers and collaborating closely with the Marketing department to finalise advertising content for products and images.Forecasting and Sales:Carrying out comprehensive forecasting of promotions to drive sales performance.Reporting on the introduction of new products to keep our offerings fresh and competitive.Monitoring the performance of promotional sales and providing ad hoc sales reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making.Supplier Relationship Management:Engaging in daily communication with suppliers to address various issues, including order management, shortage investigations, and responding to customer queries.Organising product tastings and managing supplier relationships to ensure top-notch product quality.Marketing and Pricing:Collaborating with senior Buyers and the Marketing department on all aspects of pricing and advertising strategies.Liaising with key departments to coordinate promotional activities effectively.Reporting and Analytics:Preparing detailed reports for review meetings and our finance department, providing insights and data-driven recommendations to support informed decision-making.I'm dedicated to enhancing our grocery promotions, maintaining strong supplier relations, and contributing to our company's ongoing success in the ever-evolving retail landscape.

Grocery Promotions - collate information from suppliers on promotional proposals, ensure all promotional information is inputted correctly on the systems, sign off promotional cycle with Buyer and liaise with marketing on relevant advertising to sign off details on products and imagesForecasting / Sales – complete forecasting of promotions, reporting of all new products, tracking promotional sales, ad hoc sales reportingSupplier Management – daily communication with suppliers on a range of issues from managing orders, investigation of shortages, following up on customer queries, tastings etc.Marketing – Liaising with senior Buyers and our Marketing department on all aspects of pricing and advertising and liaise with key department on promotionsReporting – production of reports for review meetings, our finance department etc.
