The rush of excitement that came when I solved a problem is what drove me into programming.Throughout high school I always wondered about what I was going to do after I graduate. I wasn’t the smartest or really ever gave anything my best go. To be honest, most of the time I really couldn’t care about school. Fast forward a couple of years I decided to go down the University route, starting my first year of Computer Science. The first year was alright, I made some new friends, found most of the content in the lectures to be interesting but like high school I didn’t bother to push myself such that, if I faced a challenge in one of the assignments, I would just skip over it and go do something else. Then came second year where I realised that I needed to work harder, ask more questions and really engage with the content that was handed to me. I told myself that I was going to get the Griffith Academic Award for Excellence, in which I needed to get at least a 6.5 grade with 7 being the highest across 4 subjects that semester. Hence, I went to work and studied hard, asked more questions, and proudly put in a great deal of effort. The year 2022 is when I received my first ever academic achievement in university.“Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” - St. Francis Of Assisi.Where am I at now?As a recent graduate, Bachelor of Computer Science majoring in Software Development at Griffith University, I am currently looking for an entry-level role to kickstart my professional journey and to establish myself in the industry.I have practiced coding in several languages which include C/C++, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Angular. I also have experience in working with GitHub, Git, GitLab and Jira for version control and project management.Some skills/topics that I have learnt so far:- Project planning, requirements analysis, prototyping, testing and software metrics and process.- Object oriented programming, object-oriented design patterns (MVC architecture), design tactics and diagramming. - Data structures such as queues, stacks, linked lists and searching, sorting and graph algorithms.- Machine learning (k-Nearest-Neighbours, decision trees and neural networks).- Operating systems and system programming, distributed software, and algorithms in C.
