I am fortunate enough that I am able to create a position where it is my job to say "Yes" to helping!I do everything in my power to not say "No" to a VeteranAs the driving force behind the True Top 1% Foundation, the founder is fueled by a profound sense of duty and an unwavering commitment to supporting military veterans. With a lineage rooted in military service dating back to the Revolutionary War, the founder's connection to the armed forces is deeply ingrained, despite not being a veteran themselves. Inspired by a family member's struggles post-service, the founder witnessed firsthand the overlooked mental health challenges confronting veterans, igniting a passion for change. Transitioning from a corporate sales role, the founder delved into the realms of psychology, particularly behavioral psychology, further fueling their determination to make a difference. Drawing on their background as a career artist and personal experiences within a military family, the founder has pioneered innovative approaches to address these issues, leveraging the transformative power of art therapy alongside traditional psychological assessments. Through tireless dedication, the founder continues to lead the foundation in its mission to honor, empower, and uplift our True Top 1%ers — the brave men and women who have served and sacrificed for our nation. Executive Director / FounderTrue Top 1% Foundation Nov 2021 - PresentSouth Bend-Mishawaka RegionWhen you hear the term “top 1%” most people think about the richest Americans. However, when I think of the “top 1%” I think of our US Armed Forces. Historically only 1% of the population choose to join the military. To me, they are the true top 1%. As an artist, the son, grandson, great grandson, nephew, and brother of veterans, I have over 200 years of military service in my family. I am passionate about our military and veterans and feel compelled to recognize our true top 1%, those who sign a blank check to the government, for up to and including their lives. I am grateful for their service, 40% of the proceeds will go to Veteran Non-profit organizations. Inspired by Clyde Miller Ret. Army Vet out of Coopers Cove, TX; this project we will highlight the experience of those who have served in the military or currently serving. Many people do not realize what our military goes through, even when they are like my mom, who did Human Resource work, there were times when she was gone for training and we had to stay with other people, or had to work long hours, to get the job done. Like my grandfather, who went on Temporary Duty, and also deployed to Vietnam, or my uncle and my aunt, who were in the Reserves, where they had their military job and a civilian job, and had to jungle those in times of emergency, when they were called up to duty. Freedom is not Free, and we can thank those who serve for our freedom. The Art Work All art starts with a story. So many of our military service members have stories that they do not know how to tell or show. JR Midwest Art will sit down with active duty and retired veterans and comb through their service identifying imagery that pops out to create a masterpiece on canvas. The artwork will help veterans share their story. Veterans Day weekend -
