Did a deep dive into the various phases of a research project from defining a research goal and working with stakeholders, using evaluative research methods and generative research methods, to presenting the findings to an audience in a clear, yet captivating manner. Established a research statement and goal and created a research plan and interview guide. Applied these learnings to a real-world research project, where I was able to conduct 5 one-on-one interviews to gather qualitative data, synthesize the information collected, analyze the primary themes which emerged, and iterate on possible solutions.

Was a member of a 6 person cohort, which over the course of 12 weeks, covered the topics of design thinking, research preparation, user personas, journey mapping, interview scripts, workshop facilitation, service blueprints, and more. As a team, acted as service design consultants for the business, Lisa's Living Club. Created a research plan, conducted user research through surveys, one-on-one interviews, and a virtual workshop using Zoom and the online collaboration tool Mural. Gathered and synthesized findings to provide recommendations on how to improve customer experience and increase customer satisfaction for Lisa’s Living Club. The business owner took on several of the recommendations and implemented them into her business offering.

BEA produces some of the most closely watched economic statistics, such as gross domestic product (GDP), that influence the decisions made by government officials, businesses, households, and individuals. As an economist at BEA, I was responsible for examining source data, conducting research and analysis, developing and implementing estimation methodologies, and disseminating statistics to the public. Selected accomplishments include:• Served as production manager of the monthly “U.S. International Trade in Goods and Services” publication, a joint release with the U.S. Census Bureau, which reached 20,000+ online subscribers at that time.• Oversaw a 5-person publication team during monthly production cycles, evaluating and monitoring team workflow throughout the deadline cycle.
