NAMB held seats on the Homeland Security / FEMA Disaster Preparedness Roundtable. It was my privilege to provide leadership to numerous foci, including: 1) The establishment of a new healthcare platform among federally defined medically underserved communities; 2) Strategic agency to agency partnerships (B2B), which focused on the development of strategies and allocation of resources to support those strategies; 3) Oversight of personnel and operations in a multi-state region. At different times during my 12 year tenure with NAMB, I provided direct leadership to development initiatives, including for a time holding the additional title of Interim Chief Development Officer. During my work at NAMB, I was also a member of a multi-agency end-user workgroup which partnered with Carnegie Mellon University's ABBY Project, which is an advanced online artificial intelligence translation platform. At the time of my engagement, ABBY allowed people to converse in real time across 28 languages; which accounted for 95 percent of the world's population. In written and audible mediums, ABBY corrects errors, clarifies colloquialisms, understands cues and learns through interaction to perform real-time interactive dialogue between two or more parties ABBY was originally developed for DOD, but today it and its protégés are leading AI transformation globally.
