At RedSTART Educate, I'm part of the team building the evidence for financial education to be on the national curriculum throughout Primary School. As a senior strategy professional with deep focus on Motor and Home Personal Lines Claims, I bring strong transferable commercial, analytical and practical implementation skills from a proven ability to develop, lead and deliver complex initiatives targeting c.£2 billion p.a. spend in a FTSE 100 Insurer. I have comprehensive experience in effective project sponsorship, building relationships, trust, engaging with all levels of cross functional stakeholders alongside a collaborative approach and an ability to adapt communication to influence and negotiate positive outcomes.I'm also an experienced Pension Trustee and Investment Committee Chair with a deep interest in overall financial wellbeing. The achievement of good financial outcomes, supported by effective strategies and governance, is a key motivation for me as higher individual wealth can increase opportunities. I have comprehensive experience of de-risking strategy and buyout preparation for a Defined Benefit scheme. For a Defined Contribution scheme, I have strategic overview of the design and implementation of a strongly performing Diversified Growth Fund and member-selected investment options.

Our aim is to provide financial education to transform the life chances of young people across the country. We do this in partnership with major financial institutions, local businesses and over 600 volunteers in 48 schools in five key locations across the UK. Getting a headstart means starting early. Through seven years of primary school, we foster and track pupils’ development, running programmes and providing resources for teachers and parents. We teach children progressively, building on their previous years’ knowledge. We intend for our robustly measured work to help change the National Curriculum in the UK. This is more important than ever with rising UK income inequality, more financial responsibility moving to individuals and the UK’s levels of financial literacy being low and falling. We have great support from our corporate partners and are keen for more to put additional funds to truly impactful use. So, if your organisation wants a robust cause with memorable lasting impact and the opportunity for your people to get meaningfully involved in delivering our sessions, we should talk. Show less -

In January 2021, Mia Craen, who was 18 years old and from Horsham, died in a car accident. The ‘What Would Mia Do Trust’ was set up in Mia’s memory to encourage young people between the ages of 5 and 18 to participate in sport. Mia was always very sporty and her parents knew how it could be tough to fund what’s involved in pursuing sport fully. Many families are seeing costs rising rapidly, so for some, paying £20 for a hockey stick, £50 for football boots, subs for a team, petrol to travel to games, or similar sorts of costs just isn’t an option. The Trust awards grants for appropriate costs to young people who are really keen to pursue a sport but are struggling to do so and may otherwise have to stop, or be unable to maximise the opportunity. Playing sport makes a big difference to a child's physical and mental wellbeing. More information is available at https://wwmd.org.uk/. The Trust is still open to further donations and is keen to receive eligible applications. Show less
