I am an awarding-winning director and producer of documentary film from Burbank, California, currently working as a Post Production Intern for both Vox Pop Films and the Emmy® award-winning Campfire Studios. Since the Fall, I’ve also worked as an assistant to Lisa Hepner, a documentary producer, director, and mentor to me. In May 2024, I earned a BFA of Broadcast Journalism & Documentary with a Queer Studies emphasis from Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. Having begun my journey into filmmaking by working with nonprofits, I’d naturally gravitated towards impact and marginal stories. So, at Chapman, I refined my skills as editor, producer, and director and successfully debuted two short capstone films focused on diverse voices. The second short, Shade in the Sunshine State, calls attention to the Miami ballroom scene and how members of this queer subculture come together and attempt to resist the inundation of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in Florida. The film, which I co-directed and produced, has become an Official Selection for 7 festivals and received the Audience Award for Best Documentary Short at the Seattle Queer Film Festival. As a proud Queer Latinx filmmaker, my roots in transformative justice and disability activism have empowered me with the empathy and vulnerability to connect with my film subjects and their stories. My impulse for amplifying underrepresented voices as a producer, editor and director continues to propel me forward.
