Responsible for design and integration of video, audio and data infrastructure for production and post-production operations. Responsible for workflow / process design and training for production and post-production.

Work on project basis. Responsible for motion graphics and animation, video editing, audio editing and color correction. I am also the primary architect of the workflows used for project management, technical compatibility and archiving by multiple concurrent team members.

Responsible for development of post-production and data archiving policies and workflow, as well video and audio editing and motion graphics. Trained graduate students and other personnel in video and audio editing and graphics software. Left position because department was dissolved.

Responsible for all post-production work for high-end film, HD, video, audio and animation. Our productions ranged from broadcast commercials to industrial videos, from interactive training materials to surround sound mixing and from technical to character animation. In addition to post-production I was responsible for archiving solutions, asset management, editing and digital file workflow between workstations and any technology related to keeping post-production humming along.

Similar duties to previous position (Operations Director at same location) including on-the-job training of new Operations Director.

Responsible for all technical aspects of CATS related to equipment and operation, including: designing and building systems and incorporating into existing CATS facility, designing and implementing workflow and best practices for day to day operation, troubleshooting equipment, signal path and workflow problems, training of full-time, part-time and volunteer personnel on equipment use and workflow and recommending equipment for purchase. During my tenure both the Monroe County Public Library and CATS expanded and I worked with an engineer and local vendors to design and build the new facility. A new 3-camera studio and control room, master control room, switching / machine room, staff and public edit rooms, and connection to the cable head end and live feeds were all designed and built from the ground up.

Responsible for coordinating all live and recorded governmental meeting and event coverage for the facility. Directly supervised production assistants, work-study and volunteer staff through all aspects of production. Responsible for training all production staff on fundamentals of video and audio production, proper use of all equipment, troubleshooting in the field, and best practices. Responsible for maintenance and operational integrity of all equipment. Responsible for making sure there were no problems with live governmental meeting or event coverage. Left position to become Operations Director at same facility.

Responsible for all aspects of video and production for multi camera / multi-microphone live city and county governmental meeting coverage and community event coverage, supervising a crew of between 1 and 5 other production assistants. Also responsible for post-production for same events. Productions overwhelmingly broadcast and recorded at remote locations so knowledge of equipment and ability to troubleshoot under pressure were paramount. Left position to become Production Director at same facility.

Was responsible for master control duties for 3 channels - tape loading and logging, use of the on-air video/audio matrix switcher, and monitoring of signals leaving the facility and of signals on-air. Occasionally included switching and character generator work for live productions from within the CATS facility. In later years, was transitioned more and more to production assistant role on multi-camera live governmental meetings. As a work-study, was part of a crew supervised by a senior production assistant. Left position to become a full production assistant at same company.

Raw Shorts was a music video show started during the height of MTV's dominance over music videos and music television, when internet distribution of material was still years away. The only outlets for music videos, if MTV was not interested in it, was regional independent shows and that's where Raw Shorts came in. The show was an hour long and ran once a week, rain or shine. We reported playlists to VMJ, a subsidiary of the College Music Journal, and music videos came in from ad agencies, bands, and post-production houses all over the country. In addition, we produced video art projects, helped local and regional bands with music video production, conducted interviews with and got live footage of bands coming through the midwest and did album reviews and commentary for a time. We eventually produced music videos on 16mm film for bands as far away as Detroit. I am very proud of the fact that I was able to produce a weekly show in 2 different television markets for over 10 years. The show has been overseen by multiple other people since I left, but is still on the air to this day.
