While In my role at VWoA I had been tasked with the large challenge of implementing Tableau as a modern reporting tool for the business unit and our field team. My role with S3 was that of a Support Engineer. Within this role I grew my Linux skills to a higher degree, as I would work on projects that would deliver host patching automation, broken disk replacement on S3 Host, and Linux RPM corruption management. While in this role I became very comfortable with my Dev Linux environment, shell scripting/automation, and troubleshooting standard broken Linux environments. However I also saw opportunities to stretch my project management skills, so using a project tracking tool I created a Kanban tool to help our team phase into the new method of Amazon project/task tracking. This set the tempo for the team moving forward and helped structure our task automation to get us out of our technical debt. Before joining Fleet Ops I worked on with Snowball. While in this role I worked in a Support Engineer function; most of my daily work included SSHing into snowball devices to fix any that had failed their cleanup automation, and then proceeding to provision them for new jobs. Most of my time within this team was spent growing my Linux systems skills, becoming comfortable with BASH, and working on small automation tooling to reduce my workload.
