A wide variety of achievements at Delmar, Herff Jones, and Lifetouch have positioned me as a knowledgeable, visionary, and inspiring business communicator, systems manager, and training project manager.I want to use my business analysis, project management, training, and communications skills to help drive a thread of clarity and continuity through an entire business process, to make it easier to do, and more beneficial for all. I see the forest and the trees. I believe in accurately defining and positioning training details within the overall value stream of a project or enterprise, to ensure the content makes as much sense in context as the entire entity does from high altitude. This "macro/micro" approach stems from my liberal arts background. I'm not just interested in what I do, but in how everything and everyone fit together for success. I'm skilled at business analysis, project management, preparing and delivering large and small presentations, creating workflow documentation and training curricula, training or managing small work groups and larger production teams, researching and developing materials and methods for production systems, software, training, and IT initiatives, mediating groups from multiple departments to facilitate agreeable pathways, developing networked workgroup database solutions, and training salespeople, operations and customer service staff, production workers, and photographers.My goal is to help as many people as possible to achieve *their* goals by learning and understanding their roles and how to play them. To reinforce that goal, I recently took seven courses, culminating in a Comprehensive Certificate in Project Management and Business Analysis at Charlotte's CPCC. I subsequently passed the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification exam on January 15, 2013.I'm a member of PMI, PMI Metrolina, and ASTD Charlotte, and attended many of their meetings and all-day events over the past year.Specialties: -My core leadership skills intersect communications with technology and the liberal arts. Assembled and trained new production teams in six core departments. • Successfully guided the transition of a school portrait photofinishing lab (people, processes, products, and equipment) from optical / film-based / analog workflows to digital workflows. The transition reduced cycle time by 50%, cut labor by 60%, improved image quality, and reduced waste by 65%. It reduced the required “footprint” in the lab by 70%, ultimately allowing the merging of four lab facilities’ volume into one and enabling production of products that were difficult or impossible to print from film. • Personally developed a turnkey order entry, production workflow, photo printing, shipping, billing, and reporting system for automated production and management of photo greeting cards for a large, national studio chain (the most profitable product line in our division).• Reduced product costs by more than 40% by selecting equipment, advising software developers, and setting up the production system for plain paper service printing (portrait proofs, portrait labels, ID cards, rotary file cards).
