 Management ResponsibilitiesManagement of a staff of nine in the areas of business recruitment, business retention and real estate development assistance. Responsible for hiring and managing of sales team; marketing and work plan development; and reporting for the Business Development Group. Chief StrategistInvolved in the creation and implementation of new economic development marketing initiatives. Currently involved with the County’s newest initiative, Tech248. This initiative focuses on the IT and Tech sectors. Previous successes include involvement in the creation of the Emerging Sectors and Medical Main Street Initiatives and assisting in the start up of Automation Alley.  International Marketing ActivitiesVice Chairman of the Michigan Global Partnership (MGP) – Asian Division (1997 – 2003). Organized and participated in six MGP trade missions to Japan and Korea. Played a key role in organizing and conducting the first Oakland County Emerging Sector trade mission to Germany in 2004. Other Marketing ResponsibilitiesOversee the sales and marketing efforts for the Business Development Group. Developed and implemented the marketing strategy for the Emerging Sector Initiative, Oakland County’s economic development strategy for attracting high tech businesses. ResultsUnder my leadership, the Business Development Group averages 50+ successes per year resulting in 4,272 new jobs created and $420 million of new capital investment including a cumulative total of $2.8 billion in investment and 11,000 new jobs as a result of the Emerging Sector Initiative.

 Prepared and conducted site and building tours for prospects. Developed and maintained extensive demographic and marketing information to aid prospects in their site location decisions. Developed and maintained the state’s first comprehensive computerized inventories of available industrial property.ResultsThe Washtenaw Development Council assisted in the creation of over 2,930 new jobs, 2,641 retained jobs, and $196 million of new capital investment between 1983 and 1986.
