Securing organisational learning to improve performance and reduce risk, I ensure exceptional standards are maintained to support the delivery of advanced operational tactics and protocols in this high risk service.Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officer (CTFSO) - Qualified to the highest level of firearms policing, I provide response to crime in action reaction across London and support a range of planned high risk operations and spontaneous events. This includes diverse events from hostage situations to dynamic entries and covert armed support; successfully managing the most complex and critical environments. I contribute to rigorous preventative and reactive operations to manage and mitigate terrorist risk, including armed interceptions on vehicles identified as high threat and, reflecting terrorism threat, preparedness to respond to ‘lone wolf’ attackers, active shooters and marauding terrorist attacks.
Royalty And Specialist Protection Command
I undertook one of the most demanding training programmes in policing, to secure this sensitive and challenging post. I exercised excellent judgement skills, assessing complex information and responding effectively, often in fast time, to maintain the safety of members of the Royal Family.Deploying nationally and internationally, I was tasked with the provision of 24-hour personal protection; working successfully with a range of internal and external partners. Coordinating timetables, conducting venue reconnaissance and reviewing plans, I ensured compliance with all security requirements and, where possible, facilitated the preferences and expectations of various principals. I provided the very highest levels of risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities, delivering safe environments and supporting as normal an existence as possible for my principals.

Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Instructor - I served as a firearms instructor, responsible for delivery of training and ongoing development of counter terrorism specialist firearms officers. I developed and delivered training programmes for officers to manage a range of environments from hostage rescue to aircraft and maritime interventions, protected movements of exceptional consignments and use of explosives. This work required exceptional risk assessment and risk management and depth of understanding of application in a variety of settings. I ensured each component met with stringent health and safety and compliance demands and reflected organisational requirements. London Olympics - Contributing to the provision of armed safety during this significant event, I liaised extensively with national and international partners including security services, ensuring the highly effective 24/7 coverage of armed assets during the games. Working with these partners, I was proactive in building resilience to mitigate potential threats and to ensure varied preferred security protocols met all UK requirements.Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms Officer - Responding to spontaneous events and supporting planned high risk operations, I provided specialist reaction to complex and critical environments. I demonstrated clear understanding of evolving risk and vulnerability, including rapid deployment of a range of tactical measures to disrupt, deter and detect high threat and risk activity. I demonstrated the capability for quick and accurate thinking in heightened circumstances; making successful judgement calls on fast developing threats.
Armed Response Vehicle
I was tasked with high visibility armed policing response to both planned and spontaneous events across London. Working within a dynamic team, I provided 24/7 armed protection, ensuring full compliance with all legal requirements of this tightly legislated service. This role required the most observant and considered attention whilst providing a visible and effective deterrent and response when required.
