Having worked in the business of Education for over 20 years, I have developed a sound knowledge of good teaching practice and assessing apprentices as well as all things Apprenticeship related. This was a huge change from my time spent as an Assistant Entertainment Manager for Haven/Warner Holidays and my 2 years as Assistant Manager for an Estate Agents on the Isle of Wight. However there is a commonality between these roles and it is communication. If you can speak to people in the way that they like to be spoken and convey information correctly and with interest then this gives the most excellent grounding to most jobs in my view.My current work with PETA is very much a solution based role. It allows me to work alongside some brilliant Levy paying employers to help them negotiate their spend wisely on apprenticeships, assist them with projects and ultimately benefit the business with either upskilling or new talent. The role is multi faceted incorporating data analysis, report writing, forecasting and communicating with stakeholders at all levels within the business as well as casting my net all over the country to introduce excellent Training Providers to the business to deliver the apprenticeship standards in the right way for the individual learner.Originally from Greenwich, London, but made the move with parents to the beautiful Isle of Wight in 1987 where I continued my studies. In London, my hobby was Irish Dancing, I did this at a very high competitive level but on the Island there was not much scope to dance for a teacher at this level so myself and my mum decided to set up our own dancing school. This has been a Labour of Love, but it is a huge passion and I am so pleased to say that this school has been successfully teaching boys, girls, teenagers and adults to dance for 32 years now. My favourite part is when a dancer finally gets to grips with something either basic or complex that they have battled with for a while. I think that this is why I enjoy any form of Education and learning so much. The 'light bulb moment' makes everything worth it.
