Digital Forensics Department

I am tasked with the extraction, preparation and management of digital content to support investigations across London. This includes attending venues to secure digital forensic evidence from crime scenes and the use of police systems to identify offenders and progress to arrest, interview and charge. There is often the requirement to provide fast time digital forensics for homicide and other specialist teams, to secure and deliver CCTV compilations and image extractions. I have contributed significantly to major investigations, including those across national police services, managing extensive evidential capture from CCTV footage of serious and violent offending. I have successfully identified and tracked specific individuals, tracing them throughout data footage, editing and presenting footage to support numerous arrests and convictions. This work is often conducted with severely limited resources, necessitating exceptionally vigilant and dynamic risk assessments and prioritisation of activity. I proactively drive the continual evolvement and maintenance of operating procedures, improvement reports and assessor audits to ensure the highest quality service provision. My evidence has been pivotal in numerous prosecutions and has consistently withstood exacting forensic examination.

Fugitive Unit

Within this dedicated team, I was tasked with locating wanted individuals, developing effective strategies and techniques to target persons unlawfully at large. I conducted intelligence gathering, across national and international borders, locating some of the most serious criminals. Managing a significant workload, I prioritised and actioned activity appropriately, meeting demanding time timescales and assessing and managing the exceptional risk often posed by these individuals.

Grip And Pace Centre

I was tasked to review officer deployment, conducting risk assessments to prioritise the effective identification of emerging harm, opportunities and threats. I also managed dedicated alerts ensuring the rapid exchange of information to support arrest teams; demonstrating the ability to think quickly and accurately and assess risk to both individuals and the organisation.

Integrated Offender Management - Priority Offender Team

Working in a multi-agency setting, I assessed and supervised serious, violent and prolific offenders who had been released from prison on licence. I drove engagement with these high risk individuals in the community, seeking to rehabilitate persistent criminals and minimise the drivers for offending. In liaison with partners including probation services, drug treatment and homeless services, I sought to identify individuals who would gain the most benefit from intervention and rehabilitation activity, driving progress through the introduction of new and innovative approaches to offending reduction. This was a particularly challenging role, working to tight deadlines and often exceptionally restricted resources. I successfully respond to a variety of issues from negotiating with, and positively influencing, reluctant clients, through to reassuring partner agencies, who were often exceptionally cautious in the exchange of essential intelligence with policing services.

Borough Commander'S Office

Having demonstrated excellent communication and organisational skills, I was selected to provide support for a senior leadership team. I provided comprehensive, up to the minute, data analysis and reports around local crime trends and hot spots to support decision making at the highest levels.

Missing Persons And Sexual Exploitation Unit

Responding to reports of high risk missing persons, I ensured time critical enquiries were managed as a priority, activating multi-agency working and securing adherence to ‘golden hour ‘principles to capture intelligence. I sought to maximise risk management and promote the effective sharing of information whilst developing and promoting individual safeguarding strategies.

Wanted Offenders Unit

Tasked to locate wanted and dangerous offenders, I conducted determined intelligence gathering. Utilising open source and national intelligence platforms and working in liaison with partners in Interpol and the UK Border Agency, I applied rapidly evolving DNA techniques and new legislation to locate and arrest serious criminals.

Operational Policing

Working in a busy and challenging area, I was charged with the immediate management of critical incidents and a wide range of operational activities. This role required a thoughtful and considered approach, often under exceptional time pressure. I demonstrated the ability to manage a diverse range of issues, influence widely and process information quickly and accurately.

I built a strong foundation of enquiry, observation and personal interaction, working in operational roles, including within a response team tasked with the immediate management of critical incidents. Having demonstrated an intelligent eye for detail, enquiry and observation, I was also selected to work in an investigative capacity, gathering intelligence and managing highly sensitive information.
