Public Order Planning - Operations - Football And Sporting Events

I serve as the MPS operational lead for the planning, risk assessment, resourcing and delivery of policing services for all football, sporting and festival events across London. I assess and manage a fast moving schedule of events; rapidly identifying and responding to incidents and emerging needs and planning the resourcing and risk management of future fixtures. Liaising extensively with both internal and external partners, I deliver resilient, effective policies and strategies across all events. Particular achievements include:• Capturing continual organisational learning, I have developed and modernised approaches that have improved safety and secured significant savings. • Recognising the need for policy around the deployment of dedicated football officers and delegation heads abroad, I wrote a policy to manage and risk assess activity and address travel, expenses and parameters for deployments.• Managing costs, resourcing and increased risk of crime and disorder, I pressed determinedly to develop national policy and governance around high risk late kick off practices. Balancing the pursuit of revenue against public safety and security, I designed and delivered policy to mitigate risk around every late kick off, securing management board approval and robust and resilient engagement on planning fixtures. • Seeking to increase public safety, I have driven the sensitive, and perhaps controversial application of live facial recognition in football deployments. This technology has secured exceptional results in the rapid identification of crime and offending. • Following serious disorder during the Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium, I was tasked to lead on MPS actions highlighted in the official governmental report. In addition, I serve in a range of command roles across London football and sporting events, from match commander at Chelsea and Arsenal football clubs to event commander at Wembley and management of events from concerts to sporting fixtures.

Central West Basic Command Unit - Neighbourhood Policing

As a senior leadership team member, I oversaw the delivery of neighbourhood policing provision in three central London boroughs. Leading a staff of 200 and managing a significant budget, I oversaw performance and ensured exceptional service delivery. Improving community engagement, I secured an increase in public confidence and intelligence sharing and implemented initiatives that challenged crime. Seeking to improve the multi-agency response to homelessness related anti-social behaviour, I identified weaknesses in collaborative working. As the deputy lead on a national project, I drove national consultation around homeless issues. Collaborating and enquiring, I identified best practice; writing a paper on new national guidance which was accepted and secured new legislation.

Supporting the Assistant Commissioner and the management board, I provided comprehensive business oversight to support decision making at the highest levels. I highlighted priorities, reviewed and updated policies and compiled reports and responses to sensitive enquiries.

Roads And Transport Policing Command

Westminster Safer Transport Team Lead - Working in partnership with Transport for London, I led the mitigation of transport centric crime through intelligence driven operations that secured the arrest of serious offenders and mitigated a range of offending.Duty Officer - Managing a staff of 60 across London, I led the response to road network incidents and investigations; developing and implementing preventative strategies to reduce criminality, mitigate deaths and serious injuries, tackle anti-social behaviour and improve public safety.

Frontline Policing

Duty Officer - Leading a large team, I held responsibility for directing response to incidents and the supervision of a wide range of operational activities. Leading this 24/7 service, I managed diverse, high priority, issues simultaneously, delivering clear and calm direction in challenging environments.Neighbourhood - Leading 100 officers in eight teams, I led robust solutions to community issues challenging anti-social behaviour, crime and disorder. As night time economy lead, I reduced crime and worked in partnership to develop intelligence sharing and mitigate crime.

Within a response team, I delivered immediate reaction to incidents; managing a diversity of issues, influencing widely and processing information effectively. On promotion, I managed the reaction to critical incidents and directed operational require. I also served as a custody officer; managing high tension environments whilst remaining cognisant of the requirements of exacting legal demands.
