About Gabriel P. Rodriguez
How are you? Genuinely. Take a minute to relax and stretch. A cluttered mind is inefficient I’ve learned :) Now that you’ve taken a minute for you, here’s one for me: (I know I talk fast, but I swear you can read this in 60 seconds) *GO* I’ve done a bit of everything. From teaching youth in the Kitchen & outdoors, to running leadership workshops, to creating a technical theatre curriculum, to building a nonprofit from the ground up, to helping support multi-billion-dollar investment funds. Here’s some of what I learned: (And where I learned it)With kids: - They are bouncy and can sustain most falls without injury (Hikes in the forest with 12+ 5 to 12y/o)- They’re especially fascinated by fire (Cooking diverse foods & teaching language with 25+ 6 to 12y/o) With Teens:- Students deal with immense amounts of stress and anxiety & they’re never actually taught ways to deal with it. Teaching coping mechanisms makes them more effective at recognizing and fixing future problems (Hosting peer Support groups with Middle & Highschoolers)- Some students won’t excel with your teaching style, but that doesn’t mean that they don't have great ideas. They’re problem solvers, and when given specific restrictions & freedoms, develop ingenious workarounds(Creating & Teaching a Tech Theatre curriculum for Highschoolers )- Any student can be a leader to their peers. Regardless of age- providing them with skills and lessons to manage a room, maintain self-confidence, and actively Listen, changes the learning environment (Running Leadership Workshops with 15+ Highschoolers)With Adults:- Advice, Affirmation, & Analysis can make any team 10x more effective at not only spotting issues but feel more motivated to work towards a common goal (Managing a 4 person Research & Consulting team)- Everyone has a story, and you learn a lot by listening. Some share failures and some share successes, but there’s always something to learn from a conversation (Many hours in dressing rooms)- It's cheaper to build something yourself, than paying others to teach you (Building my nonprofit)I'm a DEI Advocate, with a Theatre Business degree from the UofR, & a double Minor in Race & Ethnic Studies, and Latin American Studies. I Have a passion for working with people and making the best of any situation. I’m interested in leading teams to become more effective parts of healthy work environments!Done. *58 Seconds*If you want to connect tell me about your day, or if you beat my 60 seconds? If not, then I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day
