Provided support to the business development activities across a range of Home Office departments and assisted in the development of the opportunities pipeline. Led the technical business solutions for a number of bids into the Home Office which included Met Police, UKVI and OSCT.

Setup the new Defence, Security and Communications Division within WhiteFlare. Created market awareness of the company’s services and business offering within these market segments and successfully bid and placed WhiteFlare on a number of government frameworks. These included, the dstl Electronic Warfare & Cyber Taxonomy Sub-lot list, Cyber Security Services framework and Digital Outcomes and Specialists framework.

@Futsal Group Ltd originally formed to provided indoor playing facilities for “futsal” a new form of 5-aside football, which originated in South America. The business diversified into education services for the post 16 market.Managed education and technology services, which delivered “A” Level equivalent courses to students, aged 16 to 18. Led the development of the groups virtual online Learning Management System and education portal, which supported student growth from 240 to 1,440 across 48-delivery centres in 3 years. Grew the college customer base from 1 main college to 20. Two main subcontractors involved in the contracts however; the services were delivered in a partnership style arrangement where the executives from each organisation sat on a Joint Executive Board. Owned full P&L, Operations and sales responsibility.

Business Development Director, (Technology) Jul 10 to Jun 2012Director of Operations, Serco Civil Government – Jul 10 to Jun 11Led all aspects of the £145m, 220 staff London Cycle Hire contract with Transport for London that won a number of industry awards.Negotiated a number of significant contract changes with TfL as well as positioning the contract for a major contract extension worth £50M+. As well as dealing with TfL, also led the negotiations with a number of technology and construction subcontractors and achieved discounts which produced significant cost savings for Serco. During this period the contract achieved PCI compliance BS27001 certification and BS9001 certification. Director of Operation, Serco Civil Government – Jan 09 to Jul 10Responsible for the operational service delivery, HR, financial and commercial management across all Gloucester based contracts and services. Also within his remit was the provision of technical support to business development activities and bids. Managed 6 sites, 350 staff and all support services to the Business Unit.Key Achievements include successful re-certification of the business unit to ISO9001 and TICKIT. Restructured the business and developed an organisational strategy to deliver increased efficiency while lowering costs and introduced a number of initiatives to improve staff morale. Increased revenue by 25% and profit by 50%.

Business Development Director, Serco Home Affairs – Dec 04 to Dec 08Built a new business development team in support of the new division to achieve a high-level of growth across the criminal justice and CT market. Grew the team from 12 to 33. Led the technology work stream and due diligence in support of the successful acquisition of RCI in North America. Managed 3 other senior managers and Director’s. Created and managed a new Enforcement Products and Services group. This group delivered high-levels of margin while also bidding and winning their first overseas contract in the speed enforcement market in partnership with Serco AsPac. Led and secured numerous contracts wins in key markets of the Home Office and Police.

Business Development Director, Serco Justice – Apr 02 to Dec 04Put in place an Account Management team and all support infrastructure, processes and procedures, Grew the team from 3 staff to 12 and restructured the team which led to a win of both the Mycroft contract, the Special Branch IT Support contract and the Special Branch software support contract. Business Unit Director, Serco Justice – Jan 01 to Mar 02Responsible for all aspects of running the Information Management Services Business Unit. Turnover approximately £15M+ with 120 staff and profits of £2M+. Completed a number of major projects and grew the business in-line with corporate goals of 20% per annum. Phase in successfully a number of key contracts from the proposal stages to fully operation states.
