Yard Coordinator
Current• Duties include, but not limited to, physically inspecting the yard to ensure its accuracy while assisting third party drivers with questions or issues • Hourly yard audits, yard equipment reporting, and safety checks by observing yard personnel and drivers for utilization of proper safety measures• Daily inspections of yard such as perimeter fence checks, equipment checks for damages or freight issues, update missing or incorrect tracking tags, wheel chock audits, seal audits, and potential safety hazards• Provide customer service to outside carriers answering questions and concerns, reviewing bill of ladings (BOL) for accuracy, proof of delivery (POD) verifications, equipment information audits and location confirmations• Assist in supervising approx. 15 yard drivers and 8 gate clerks with the ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision• Daily meetings held with drivers and clerks regarding yard expectations for the day, yard updates, safety procedures, and policy changes• Able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events with a clear sense of urgency• Nominated for Maersk 2023 Safety Committee • Work with multiple in-house accounts to provide support with equipment and freight verifications, yard checks, and equipment damage inspections• Release trailers and containers to third party drivers, verifying bill of ladings (BOL) information to ensure the correct asset is being routed to the proper location• Communicate with various carriers and customers via email pertaining to equipment related questions, notifications, and damage reporting• Technical support when needed to include troubleshooting printers, computers, tablets, email accounts, etc.• Audit YMS for accuracy of inbound and outbound container/trailer documentation• Strong organizational skills (filing both hard copy and electronic information, task prioritizing, task tracking, customer database, etc.)
