About Stephen Barrett
Stephen is currently leading the INDICATE DATA project (https://www.indicatedata.com/) which aims to develop a national methodology for Whole Life Carbon Assessments of buildings. EU directives, primarily the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), are driving the demand for these assessments today, and they will become mandatory across the EU for buildings over 1,000 sq. metres in 2028. The national methodology is based on the same framework as EU directives - Level(s) - and is adapted specifically for the Irish context. It is in development and available to anyone who is interested to apply to their project. In this way results can be compared transparently and fairly across projects.
