I founded this national organization to prevent falls in the elderly and at-risk populations in cities all across the United States. We targeted nursing homes and centers in underserved and disadvantaged communities to hold a screening for falls risk, with hundreds of participants. Also, we educate the patients regarding fall prevention, coordinating with renowned physicians to provide evidence-based interventions to put a stop to falls and those with gait incoordination. Via the International Clinicians Fall Prevention Initiative (ICFPI), I aid physicians specializing in fall prevention to reach out to clinicians across the world in educating them about our effective methods and increasing awareness. We hope to target 5,000 individuals and 200 clinicians by the end of 2021.

As an undergraduate researcher in the Lusis laboratory, I mastered many laboratory techniques including mice euthanization, organ extraction, tissue extraction, DNA extraction, and quantitative-PCR. I authored a project where I conducted cardio-metabolic analyses on a mouse diversity panel to study the role of mtDNA mutations and metabolic homeostasis upon fasting. Currently, I am working on a project to understand the genetic-predispositions of exercise endurance using the Hybrid Mouse Diversity Panel (HMDP). Additionally, I presented PowerPoint presentations on this project as well as on Poster Day as part of the department's research-intensive route to graduation. Lastly, I participated in several journal clubs to solidify and master the ability to read, comprehend, disseminate, and scrutinize primary scientific literature. Throughout this opportunity, I was exposed to how scientific research is the backbone of modern-day medicine. Being part of the Lusis Laboratory delivered the infrastructure and guidance needed to solidify my pursuit of a physician.

For over a decade, I provide biblical and secular classes to children of various ages. I conduct Hebrew classes for teenagers in preparation for Bar-Mitzvah services as well as assist students in various secular subjects. During this process, I developed the qualities of patience and perseverance and was exposed to different students of all backgrounds across various communities in the Los Angeles area.

I shadowed and conducted research under the auspices of Dr. Levan Atenalov in the physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) clinic. I was exposed to preventative medicine in the realm of geriatrics and learned more about the effects of cardiometabolic diseases on overall health. I participated in a research project involving fall prevention methods and efficacy at local nursing homes. Working with Dr. Atenalov and communicating with his patients provided the expexted atmosphere and skill as a physician.

During the summer, I was chosen to be a sales representative at Vector Marketing. Duties include presenting and marketing consumer products via face-to-face advertisements. I was promoted to key staff within the first three weeks. This experience has taught me many valuable skills including communication, organization, multi-tasking, and leadership.
