It was while leading a large clinical and research team specialising in Movement Disorders Neurology and Parkinson's disease that I developed my interest in management. I was personally looking after thousands of patients and at the same time responsible for the administration and research teams to support them.After more than 15 years in the field, which included a PhD and more than $1M of successful research grants, I have refocused my efforts from clinical research to practical improvement of medical businesses through good management and technology driven systems. I founded Hoxton Medical Practice Management to provide business solutions for my medical colleagues. Offering scale to smaller practices and intelligent management solutions to larger practices we have developed a comprehensive outsourced business process model that solves real problems. Hoxton MPM was fully acquired by the Avant Group in December 2022.Innovation has been central to all of my roles and driving change through creative leadership rates high on my priorities. Pleased to have discovered a new muscle disease, known as Williams Distal Myopathy (autosomal dominant distal myopathy associated with missense mutation in filamin C). Have an interest in the research of the yawning reflex.
