I was first employed at MACH to develop the Honeycomb Attenuator, a novel, versatile solution to naturally ventilate buildings while reducing noise ingress and transmission into and through a building. This drew upon my skills in design, analysis and general ability of knowing how to put things together.I have grown with the company and having joined at a time when there were three other consultants at MACH, I have assisted with building that number up to 20+. During this time I have developed a hugely broad range of experience in the built environment. This includes Environmental, Planning, Education, Residential, Offices, Factories, Theatres, Museums, Refurbishment, Conservation and all sorts of other unique schemes. These have ranged from £5M to £100M+ schemes.The technical skills & knowledge gained through these experiences is not limited to acoustics but a greater knowledge of other disciplines and how acoustics can have an impact on each of them, which has enabled me to be a more effective consultant. This has also lead to a real understanding of the importance of getting down to what a client really requires such to deliver a successful project which has helped with resolving many challenges along the way. One of my core beliefs of being a good consultant is to "stay curious". This means question everything and never be afraid to ask questions.
