Abdullahi Abdulle is an accomplished leader with over a decade of experience in public policy, urban planning, equitable community engagement, facilitation, leadership development, and strategic planning. In 2023, he launched Humanize MN, a consulting firm focused on promoting equitable policies and inclusive decision-making to enhance government services.His journey began as a new immigrant to the United States, where he encountered challenges in accessing essential services. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in transportation and urban planning, ultimately leading him to seek public office. In 2020, he became the first person of color elected to the New Brighton City Council.Abdullahi’s impactful leadership has earned him numerous accolades, including the 2023 Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award from WTS and the 2021 History Makers at Home award from the City of Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights.Before founding Humanize MN, Abdullahi led the Minnesota Department of Transportation's Advancing Transportation Equity Initiative. In this role, he designed and implemented a statewide initiative to define transportation equity, develop commitments to transportation equity, and acknowledge the systemic harms caused by past agency decisions. His approach focused on amplifying the voices and experiences of people who are underserved and overburdened by transportation investments.He holds a master's degree in urban planning from Minnesota State University and is committed to empowering decision-makers to consider the impacts of their choices on marginalized communities.
