The goal of the DOPA project was to develop an electronic medical record transcription system which utilized a handheld computer linked to a centralized medical records database via a wireless network connection, with the aim of reducing administrative costs, increasing efficiency, and decreasing medical transcription errors.-Obtained and entered patient medical histories into a database using proprietary software designed for the DOPA project.
