• Perform complex molecular testing and results analysis according to established standard operating procedures and protocols set by the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) of the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).• Conduct DNA & RNA extraction and quantitation, Next Generation Sequencing, Sanger Sequencing, Fragment analysis RT-PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, TNR, MLPA, and operates laboratory automation workstations.• Troubleshoot assays independently and alerts and collaborates with supervisor on concerns and questions related to sample and assay quality and integrity.• Maintain complete appropriate documentation (using LIS) on all tests performed and analyze and interpret patient test results within the expected timeframes for completion.• Perform routine laboratory maintenance and maintain records of all reagents and equipment.• Undertake self-instructed and supervised verification and validation of studies to make DNA extraction process improvements and choose new equipment and technologies.• Comply with federal, state, and local EHS policies, regulations, procedures.
