I am a passionate, problem-solving technology enthusiast working daily across multiple roles at Broadcom/VMware. I provide a critical bridge between our Product Value Engineering group (handling customer/support escalations) and the Service Reliability Engineering group (hosting and maintaining our SaaS products).In my PVE role, I provide customer-oriented engineering expertise, troubleshooting, investigating, and solving common issues with our vRealize Operations platform. In short, I spend a lot of time reading code, discerning its purpose, and understanding how to approach environmental and product-specific issues.In my SRE role, I wear multiple hats: CICD support for SaaS deployments; on-call support for Aria Operations Cloud outages and product issues; monitoring and observability expertise for product services; and infrastructure design, development, and support for the underlying infrastructure in our Aria Operations services. Much of my current infrastructure/automation work is done in Golang and Python, with a smattering of Bash and Groovy, though I'm bringing Rust into the mix as well.In addition to these two roles, I also am the author and lead developer of a platform utilized across multiple engineering groups to investigate and troubleshoot product support bundles. I lead development efforts alongside our brilliant UI engineer who makes everything look good.I spend a large amount of my spare time working in Rust and Python, and deploying complex systems in my home lab environment. My passion is software development with a focus on Cloud-based technologies, such as Kubernetes and Docker and virtualized environments. During my off-hours, I manage a full Kubernetes service for my family (including Nextcloud, Grafana, and other services) for fun -- yes, for fun!Throughout my career I've worked in many software engineering roles: software quality and testing (automated and manual); software UI development (specifically in Flex -- remember that? -- and JS+HTML); back-end services and APIs utilizing Java and Python; and services/microservices.My current specialties are listed below:Python, Rust, Golang, Bash, Java, software development (SaaS and on-premise), VMware and AWS virtualization and application deployment, automation using Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and Jenkins, containerization using Kubernetes and Docker, Web UI development (Javascript, HTML, CSS), technical leadership and software design, Linux system administration, networking/administration
