During that time to current not even a full year yet I have completely turned around IT perception of the property and allowed the users to trust that IT can get the job done. In just under a year I have completed multiple projects to bring the property back to the newest standards in the IT realm. This includes. Chip and Pin Credit Card Conversion to Freedom Pay, Opera 5.6 upgrade, Complete Micros Upgrade, I setup outdoor WiFi throughout the property and will be completing a complete guest internet upgrade soon. Total hotel rooms are 1663 rooms 69 Meeting Rooms with 160,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, and over 500 associates. Along with the normal duties, I also assisted my Area manager with coming up with better ways to improve the Atlanta Market documentation, collaboration, and overall team moral. Many of my spreadsheets and templates are currently in use by several members of the IT community.
Service Desk Technician
I was a Service Desk Technician at White Lodging Corporate office. I assisted close to 9000 employees with the different computer and network issues that would arise during day to day operations of the close to 200 White Lodging Managed Hotels. I handled all Mitel Phone system creating/modifying Phones for corporate office associates. I helped support Micros POS Issues as they arise to alleviate the strain of our infrastructure Team from having to stop what they are doing to complete them. As well as anytime network issues arise at remote hotels. Within the service desk I had to know the ins and outs of every piece of software used and supported for over 40 different hotel brands. Brands from Marriott, Starwood, Hyatt, Hilton, and several stand-alone brands. Information Technology Manager
I was the Systems Manager in the IT Department. I was the only IT Manager on site. I performed the same tasks as I did as a Systems Technician, but now was in charge of IT audits, kept up the equipment inventory, active directory management, User access controls, and cell phone maintenance/management. As a manager I would also participate in the MOD (Manager On Duty) rotations, where I was the acting manager of the hotel. I also continued to monitor our CCTV system, as well as investigate guest and associate incidents by reviewing camera footage, doing lock interrogations, and looking through computer history files to find if guests/associate users are accessing files they shouldn't be. I have also helped the secret service run secure phone line that was separate from our hotel phone system.
Lp Supervisor
While still providing IT Support for the hotel, I also provided Maximum safety and security to all internal and external guests. Supervise LP officers in a day to day basis. Insure officers are completing paperwork and tasks, in a timely manner. Also I ordered First Aid supplies, radio parts, electronic keys, and oversaw the systems in the LP office. I would also monitor the CCTV systems, and fill out investigative reports for guest/associate incidents/accidents.
Systems Technician
I was the systems technician in the IT Department. Since my manager became Director of Event Technologies and Information Systems. I was the main computer tech for the entire hotel which includes 622 rooms and about 150 computer users. I would respond to all of the guestroom internet and phone issues, and staff issues as well. I do daily checks on rooms to make sure everything is working correctly. If the engineers get behind on calls, I still help them out with their calls. Also as a Systems tech at the Marriott Hotel I've created several computer programs, and presentations for the Resident Manager (Second in command of the hotel), that were viewed internationally. One presentation went up against Disney Corp., Marriott International, Hyatt Hotel Corp. and Hilton Corp. Etc. It was viewed in different countries such as; England, Switzerland, and North America. Etc.
Engineer Technician
I was an engineer doing routine maintenance and calls. As an engineer I would fix guestroom issues and staff issues as well. I would be assigned daily work orders to be completed that day. Also PM’s that needed to be done.
