I work across all the homes of Godfrey Care to ensure care needs are met, that the promotion of Quality of Life is at the forefront of everyone's duties, and behaviours that challenge are managed in the most effective, least-restrictive manner. I am the lead NAPPI trainer for the organisation, and I'm equipped to deliver training in PBS, Autism & Learning Disabilities and Active Support. I work alongside the Directors of the company, Managers, Team Leaders and Support Workers to aim for the most optimal care to be provided across all homes. I also have involvement in helping new homes establish and grow by reviewing PBS plans for individuals moving in, visiting them to establish a relationship, and regularly reviewing their progress of settling into their homes to identify where their care can be improved.

I have worked across many homes within Godfrey Care where I established bonds with the residents to provide the most optimal care and enhance their quality of life. I began as a Support Worker, soon advancing to the Team Leader position in June 2022. I worked alongside healthcare professionals to upkeep the wellbeing of all residents. I worked alongside management to identify where care needs required improvement and how to optimise workplace documentation. I was in a team that I managed to ensure the resident's needs were met, including: health needs by administering medication; enjoyment of life by ensuring everyone accessed the community as much as possible; improvement in life skills by actively involving and encouraging residents to upkeep and learn new skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, administering their own medication. Working in an environment with individuals who are autistic, have learning disabilities and other additional needs, and display challenging behaviours, allowed me to grow as an individual to appreciate the necessity of person-centred care, and the benefits of providing care in a way that promotes independence and improves one's quality of life.
