I have been influential in helping to promote Wildanet across Cornwall as the company has had to build its reputation and consumer trust in deploying a relatively unknown technology in Fixed Wireless Access internetAs the initial Marketing & Communications manager, I used my analytical strengths in digital marketing to get a foothold in localised communities to promote both the company and the technology as we started to grow.I oversaw the marketing in late 2018 to help achieve a successful crowdfunding campaign which allowed Wildanet to significantly expand further across the county and start growing the team.With the additional funding, the marketing was outsourced as I used my 2 decades of telecoms experience to move across to help with the planning and design of the expanding FWA network subsequently building out multiple pockets of Fixed Wireless connectivity across the county.By using government grant schemes to help fund the building of the projects, this made for a cost effective way of bringing much higher bandwidth connections to those people who were not in the sights of the incumbent providers fibre rollout plans. In 2019, I designed and oversaw a rural project to build a bespoke FWA network for a community in North Cornwall in one of the most extreme terrains in the county.It was built at zero cost to to the customers who were all eligible for government funding seeing a profitable return in less than 6 months for the company.In 2020, I designed and costed FWA networks for 3 key areas of Cornwall with difficult topology which contributed to a major investment into the company in late 2020.I’m now involved with streamlining the Service Delivery process of both the fibre and FWA network and I’m currently developing a onboarding training program for new engineers as the company moves into a new era of growth in 2022.
