KWI is a provider of industry leading SaaS for specialty retailers including point of sale (POS) and merchandising systems.• Code and support new mobile POS system. The system runs on a iPod device and calls SOAP-based web services on the back end to provide processing to the device.• Implemented continuous build process using Jenkins build server.• Instrumental in moving Java development from ant to maven including setting up and managing Nexus repository server.• Designed and implemented a payment service that takes requests from the application to process payment operations through different processors, routes the request to the correct payment processor formats and calls the correct provider web service and returns the results. This service had to be PCI compliant and highly fault tolerant.• Designed and developed a webservice to interface with various shipping providers such as FedEx and UPS to generate shipment labels and tracking numbers for packages.• Designed and developed a sales tax service to calculate the correct sales tax to collect on a transaction. The programmatic interface was a RESTful webservice. Implemented a GUI to allow clients and SMEs to manage tax rules using Tapestry.
