During my time with SRT I have become very versatile and knowledgeable of the many aspects involved in running a freight company. As a fleet manager I was responsible for dispatching 35-50 trucks, ensuring carrier compliance with customers instructions. I challenged each driver to reach his/her potential, got drivers home on time as well as making sure freight was delivered on time. As a customer Service Representative I was responsible for booking the most profitable freight out of numerous states to load trucks into the regions where freight was the most prevalent. Being a logistical area manager was by far the most challenging and rewarding part of the job. It consisted of me finding the correct driver with the best hours and planning them on customer freight that we could both service pick up and delivery and make the most profit from. Attention to detail was a crucial part of this position as there were many factors in every decision I mad such as a drivers hours, ability to manage their clock, whether a load was dry or refrigerated and making sure the driver had the correct equipment to be able to do their job properly. As the Service manager I was tasked with our top 10 customers and ensuring we made on time delivery as much as we possibly could weather permitting. If a driver didn’t have the hours or was broke down my job was to find another truck close enough to be able to get it and run in in for the delivery appointments scheduled. My task in Equipment control was to manage all of our refrigerated and dry van trailers. My job was to make sure we had enough equipment in every region of the nation as well as pulling equipment that we were trading or selling. I was tasked with finding equipment that had been written off as lost as well as implementing practices to ensure all of our assets are accounted for. Working for Southern Refrigerated transport allowed me to become very versatile and learn a lot of different aspects of the transportation industry
