Head Of Business Solutions & Founding Product/Tech LeadGrab Dec 2011 - Dec 2018Singapore, Singapore, SgI joined Grab (formerly known as GrabTaxi & MyTeksi), shortly after it was founded in late 2011 and was an early core team member and primarily looked after Product, Engineering and UX/Design. Together with the team, helped craft the product vision and recruited the necessary talent to build all our apps, backend platforms and IT systems.I've had the great opportunity to learn and help out with much of the initial Business Development, Partnerships, Operations and Marketing work for Grab in the early days as well. Meeting taxi fleets, signing-up individual drivers, launching Grab into new SEA markets, setting up customer experience centers regionally and closing key partnerships were all part of my normal week outside of Product, Tech and Design.In 2016, hungry for a different kind of challenge, I moved to the business operations side and worked on launching GrabCar in new cities as well as new exciting product lines such as GrabFood in Indonesia and our maiden inter-country car-pooling GrabHitch for the Johor Bahru (Malaysia) - Singapore route.In 2017, I led Post Merger Integrations activities where I work with the M&A execution team to identify key integration risks and opportunities, and lead all work-streams for the integration process upon transaction close. I have also had the amazing opportunity to work with the M&A team to close two acquihire deals and learnt much in that process.In 2018, I lead our Payments business regionally and help drive our growth in both online & offline acceptance as well as digital marketplaces.Am super proud to say that we have come a long way. From seven people working out of a store room in 2011, we have now grown close to 7,000 people across 10 countries and changing the way 650 million people in South East Asia commute every day. -

FounderEzypzy.Com Dec 2006 - Dec 2008I founded EzyPzy to make property listings easier and to help real-estate agents manage their leads and customers better via the mobile phone.In the pre-smartphone and SMS craze era, EzyPzy sought to create unique alphanumeric codes for real estate agents to print on their For Sale or For Rent posters for prospective customers to SMS in that code and immediately receive a text description followed by MMS photos of that specific property.Agents also had their entire customer database on the cloud and acted as a lead generator as they would be automatically informed via SMS whenever a prospective customer SMSed in their property codes for more details.We managed to secure USD 50k pre-seed funding and successfully used it to develop and commercialise the product. However there was no traction post commercialisation and we did not meet product market fit as we failed to understand our market well enough. We eventually pivoted the business to become a SMS Campaign manager for bulk marketing related SMS blasts, however that was a very low margin business and we eventually shut down the service to focus on other projects.
