I created and developed my role and responsibilities by under taken training in manual handling and becoming ward based advisor, maintaining equipment and staff training or advice staff on complex patient handling techniques. which form the base of the extra responsibilities taken on.further development in CPD was the training in management and prevention of violence and aggression advisor role. responsibilities where, advise staff on complex behavioural situations and develope safe de-escalasion plan, refresh brake away techniques at ward level and mantain a staff training needs analysis.

I worked within the management and provention of violance and aggression team, a small specialist team in nhs lothian providing internal staff training, In theory and physical training of the management and prevention of violence and aggression in the clinical setting. i would facilitate physical training sessions consisting of basic brake away and de-escalation techniques. moving on to low level restraint techniques and then high level restraint techniques.
