Hardware refresh of VxRail hyperconverged infrastructure and networking and the subsequent migration to that infrastructure. The role included:• Providing technical architectural governance of the workstreams• Interfacing with the clients architect for any design or architectural issues relating to the programme.• Producing the High Level Design Document as a deliverable that would form the framework to which all project low level designs or configuration workbooks aligned.• Providing a High Level Migration Strategy Document that outlines the approach(s) to the migration phase.• Provide technical expertise in any troubleshooting.

• Carrying out discovery and documenting the existing estate to form the basis of the cloud migration. This included creating an easy to consume single point of truth for all technical information required by the programme.• Analyising the current network flows, security zones, routing and interfaces, then building the equivalent within the new cloud environment while simplifying where possible. • Working with Telefonica and their 3rd parties to migrate the 200 external interfaces into and out of the migrating systems. This included associating interfaces with firewall rules, producing recommended actions for the 3rd parties as well as scripted testing of interfaces once the required changes had been made.• Supporting other account architects and the prime (Kyndryl) to review designs and provide technical recommendations.

• Discovery and documentation of the application and infrastructure services that form the basis of the DWP health assessment services suites(ASIS).• Working with the DWP internal hosting and security teams to understand the requirements and constraints when deciding if and where services could/should be migrated to.• Producing a report to highlight the technical challenges, caveats and a recommendation for what DWP need to do in order to migrate the health assessment service away from it’s current hosting provider.

• Identity and Access Management architect producing the designs for Active Directory, Imprivata OneSign, Ping Federate and Sailpoint.• Supporting other architects during the design phases including reviewing designs and providing technical oversight during TDA.• Providing technical assurance to the application discovery teams in regards to access control mechanisms for each application.• Working on the migration project to move CCLs pre-prod environment from the IBM cloud to their own on-prem datacentres. This includes analysing the resource requirements, timings and pre-requisites and ensuring any issues were called out early before impacting deadlines.• Analysing Epic and Agfa storage and compute requirements to ensure the underlying infrastructure was sufficient and calling out any contention areas so they could be mitigated early therefore prolonging the service life of the available capacity.• Providing low level technical fault finding assistance to the programme during datacentre build out.• Assisting with initial build and configuration of the datacentre to ensure the programme stayed on schedule.• Completing low level build documentation in order for suppliers to build out key datacentre components so as the VXBlock and VXRail infrastructure.

• Working with the migration architecture team to design the migration process focusing on Active Directory when in an isolated testing environment, remote access to said isolated environment and ensuring this process is repeatable.• Gathering requirements and liaising with other client vendors to ensure sufficient knowledge of the software stack was available to replicate and test the applications during the migration phases.• Liaising with client vendor to stretch Active Directory into new datacentres, providing our requirements, analysing failures to comply with Microsoft best practices within the client source environment and their impact on our activities. • Root cause analysis for migration related application issues where changes were necessary to support uplifted hardware in the target datacentres. • Providing technical input to the team working on new a business proposal for the account.

• Working with the new build architecture team to deliver designs for infrastructure to support the bank in its new datacentres. These included designs for Quest Active Roles, Cirba performance monitoring and KMS activation services.• Reviewing colleague’s designs and providing technical input where necessary prior to TDA submission.• Reviewing existing designs, identifying gaps or incorrect design decisions and then raising these with the chief architect.• Diagnosing issues, providing workarounds for software limitations and ensuring the required changes are documented and appended to pre-existing designs via the programmes design governance processes.• Mentoring graduate architect throughout his first design.
