About Aaron M. Lambert, Ph.D.
I’m a neurobiologist with 21+ years of science-based experience, the first 16 years of which comprised integrative experiments in the lab across many topics, scales (molecular, cellular, circuit, behavioral), and model systems (cell culture, zebrafish, mouse, rat, chinchilla, monkey, human). I've brought new ideas and platforms to research programs and have disseminated them to others. I expanded my doctoral lab’s conceptual, financial, and methodological platforms by envisioning/cultivating a novel line of research that helped realize ~$2 million in new grant funding, and developed its first behavioral assays and integrated them with experimental designs employing electrophysiology, transgenics, chemogenetics, pharmacology, cellular imaging, and molecular biology. My work has been featured on the front cover of the Journal of Neuroscience, as well as the front cover of “dopamine & movement” information pamphlets given out by the Society for Neuroscience at their conferences of 30,000+ attendees each year. I effectively communicate my ideas in speech and writing, as I’ve presented many invited talks—including at international conferences in front of audiences of 500+ scientists—and have been awarded multiple competitive fellowships from writing successful grant proposals. Fortunately, the above highlights are modest compared to those of many previous colleagues with whom I've gleaned invaluable insights. Moreover, the mentorships provided by my doctoral and postdoctoral advisors have sculpted me into a far better scientist and person than I otherwise would have been. That said, my ongoing long-term goal is to leverage my eclectic background, rigorous scientific candor, and innovative spirit to adaptively advance unique solutions toward basic, translational, and clinical elucidations in neuroscience—and biology on the whole—and disseminate thereupon. To this aim, I currently act as a Scientific Editor/Consultant for multiple companies around the world; in this role, I've helped hundreds of labs to improve 1,000+ manuscripts (across all domains of biology), many of which have been published in high-profile journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, and Lancet. In addition, I concurrently act as a Principal Medical Writer/Consultant in which I've led medical and scientific communications for 30+ pharmaceutical/biotech companies globally; here, I've built scientific communication platforms that integrate data from early drug development, clinical trials, and real-world outcomes for publishing findings via an updateable framework. More to come. Stay tuned.

Principal Medical Writer/Consultant
CurrentPrincipal Medical Writer/Consultant for Virgo Health, improving medical and scientific communications for several multinational pharmaceutical & biotechnology companies, with a primary role as the lead medical writer in scientific platform development for AstraZeneca's next-generation COVID-19 prophylactic spike-protein–targeting monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) for better protecting immunocompromised individuals. This work will aid in AstraZeneca publishing and disseminating their findings from experiments and clinical trials on the epidemiology, unmet need, mechanism of action, efficacy, and safety of these next-generation COVID-19 mAbs. Since immunocompromised individuals represent only 3% of the US population yet suffer from nearly 50% of all COVID-19–related hospitalizations and deaths due to their immune systems being unable to marshal a sufficient defense from either COVID-19 vaccines or infections, providing them with an exogenous-derived next-generation mAb defense that is carefully designed to combat and concomitantly best evade resistance and variant mechanisms of COVID-19 will likely save and substantially improve many lives. While our headquarters are in London, I continue to work remotely in Boston/Cambridge (MA), primarily working with our New York–based team and coordinating across teams in London and Chicago as needed. And although I've previously been offered positions as a Medical Director and/or Scientific Director to lead a team of medical writers, I prefer to avoid managerial obligations and instead focus on diving deep into the scientific and medical literature firsthand for creating deliverables; with this impetus as a Principal Medical Writer, I am now able to earn as much as or more than I would in most roles as a Medical/Scientific Director. This current role is separate from my ongoing role as a Scientific Editor/Consultant for multiple other companies around the world focused on scientific communications for academic labs.
Senior Medical Writer/Consultant
Senior Medical Writer/Consultant for Prime Global, improving medical and scientific communications for several multinational pharmaceutical & biotechnology companies, with a primary role as the lead medical writer in scientific platform development for Blueprint Medicines (based in the Harvard/MIT/biotech hub of Cambridge, MA) to aid in them publishing their findings from experiments and clinical trials on the epidemiology, unmet need, mechanism of action, efficacy, and safety for each of several precision therapies for treating various cancers. While our headquarters are in the United Kingdom, I'm primarily working with our New England–based team (directly reporting to a medical director in the Yale/biotech hub of New Haven, CT) and coordinating across teams in New York City, San Francisco, San Diego, and several teams throughout the UK (London, Cambridge, Oxford, Brighton, Knutsford). This role is separate from my ongoing role as a Scientific Editor/Consultant for multiple other companies around the world focused on scientific communications for academic labs.
Senior Medical Editor/Consultant
Senior Medical Editor/Consultant for BGB Group, improving medical and scientific communications for 20+ multinational pharmaceutical & biotechnology companies—including Pfizer, Merck, Bristol Myers Squibb, Amgen, Biogen, GlaxoSmithKline, Genzyme, and Eisai—as well as various startup and mid-stage biotechnology companies. This role is separate from my ongoing role as a Scientific Editor/Consultant for multiple other companies around the world (e.g., Accdon) focused on scientific communications for academic labs.
Scientific Editor/Consultant
Scientific Editor/Consultant for Accdon and several other companies around the world, improving scientific communications for academic labs; in this role, I've helped hundreds of labs to improve the motivation, background, experimental design, statistical analyses, interpretations/implications of findings, and the overall communication and presentation of these components for 1,000+ manuscripts (across all domains of biology), many of which have since been published in high-profile journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, and The Lancet. This role is separate from my concurrent role as a Senior Medical Editor/Consultant for BGB Group, focused on improving medical and scientific communications for several multinational pharmaceutical & biotechnology companies.
