I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. My early career focused on serving children on the Autism Spectrum as an ABA therapist, and as a counselor for adolescents diagnosed with substance abuse disorders and co-morbid anxiety and/or depression. As an MFT at the Richstone Family Center, I gained a great deal of experience working with families, individuals, and couples across as wide range of mental health issues. My experience with this organization provided me with significant training in the assessment and treatment of trauma utilizing Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as the Integrative Treatment of Complex Trauma for Adolescents model. My work with Star View community Services provided me with the opportunity to serve the most vulnerable populations in the Los Angeles area, providing evidenced-based and cultural attuned treatment to Black and Brown communities. I currently work as a per diem provider for Kaiser Permanente where I co-facilitate groups within the Behavioral Health and Intensive Outpatients Services for your adults managing acute mental health symptoms. Additionally, I am trained as a gender therapist providing mental health assessments for individuals seeking gender confirmation services. My most recent professional endeavor is as Clinical Program Director for Realistic Education in Action Coalition (REACH LA). I am honored to be the first clinician with the organization to design and implement psychotherapy services for Queer and Trans people of color. My theoretical approach is grounded in a humanistic lens with the understanding that the therapeutic relationship is the bedrock of healing and growth in treatment. Additionally, I integrate the theory and methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Models, Family Systems, Mindful Self Compassion, and an anti-oppression lens with an understanding of the ways that in which both micro and macro systems impact the mental health and functioning of the individual. Finally, I completed my Master’s thesis entitled The Impact of West-African Dance on Positive Mental Health, and continue to explore the ways in which Black and Indigenous people of color possess resources for wholistic well-being embedded within our cultural practices. I am currently training to be a registered dance movement therapist which will allow for me to serve individuals and groups through blending my passions for dance/movement and healing.
